Maybe you are already a wrapping gift expert, maybe your “wife wrapped” gifts are flawless with no tears, jagged cuts, and not a single visible piece of tape anywhere on the box. However, for some, the wife skill of wrapping the perfect gift is not so obvious and it must be practiced! Here are a few tips, as you wrap your HOLIDAY gifts, to make the process simple and beautiful! Everyone will adore your perfectly wrapped “wife” gifts!
*If your gift is odd shaped, find a neat box to place it in. Place the box along the length of wrapping paper and unroll enough paper to wrap it around the box (be sure to leave 2-3 inches for overlapping). Be sure there is enough paper on the ends to cover them completely when folded over.
*Use a yardstick to guide in cutting a straight line once ready to cut the paper.
*Wrapping the length of the box is easy it is the darn ends that this wife struggles with. So position the box so that one short end is facing you. Grasp the left and right edges of the wrapping paper and push the sides in so that top and bottom flaps are formed. Make sure the edges are pushed in as far as they will go without ripping the paper. Tape the edges to the box.
A few other GIFT WRAPPING “WIFE” TIPS!
- Choose wrapping paper that comes on a tube instead of pre-cut sheets folded into squares. The latter have deep creases, which can give your package a not-neat appearance.
- Transparent tape, especially the non-glossy kind, will give your package a clean and “no-tape-visible” appearance.
- Remember to remove any price tags before wrapping (you wouldn’t want to have to undo all that hard wife work)!
